¤ AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM INSPECTION & REPORT SERVICE ¤
System Inspection & Report Service; Service cost £45.00
System Inspection & Report Service + In-Car Temperature Analysis; Service cost £65.00
The System Inspection & Report Service offers the customer a written report on the state of the air conditioning system and an estimate of the costs of any remedial work.
The System Inspection and Report Service includes;
- Refrigerant Quality Analysis with Printout if required
- Static and Operating Pressure measurements
- Delivery Temperature measurements.
Also checks are carried out on the pollen filter, compressor clutch & drive belt, condenser & fan, filter drier/accumulator, pipework and hoses.
Optional: In-Car Temperature Analysis Service; Cabin temperature versus time performance is analysed. Using a data logger inside the vehicle we are able to provide a detailed printout showing cabin temperature changes versus time and how effective the Air Conditioning system has been at achieving this performance.
¤AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM SERVICE ¤
Air Conditioning System Service; Service cost £130.00 (R134a system)
Air Conditioning System Service; Service cost £145.00 (R12 system)
This service includes all of the items mentioned in the System Inspection & Report Service as detailed above, including the In-Car Temperature Analysis service. Additionally a De-Gas, Nitrogen (OFN) Leak Test and Re-Charge is included. The full service takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete.
Also included in the price is the supply of R134a or RS24 gas, up to 1 Kilogram in weight and oil top up as necessary. There is no additional charge for waste gas removed up to a weight of 1 kilogram.
This service includes:
- System Inspection & Report
- Gas Analysis with customer copy printout if required.
- In-Car Temperature Analysis with printout; records pre-service Air Conditioning system performance.
- De-Gas system to waste or recycling bottles.
- Leak Test using OFN (Oxygen Free Nitrogen) pressure test.
- Deep Vacuum of AC system
- Re-Charge with R134a/RS24 to manufacturers specifications.
- Add correct amount & grade of compressor oil.
- Add Ultra Violet dye for easier future leak detection.
- Final Leak Tests using electronic sniffer & UV light source.
- Repeat of In-Car Temperature Analysis; records post-service aircon system performance.
Note: Some of the above services assume there is some gas left in your system to test with and it is possible to run the system in its 'faulty' state. To complete the service the system must be proved to be leak free. See below for leak detection services .
¤ ADDITIONAL ON-VEHICLE SERVICES ¤
>>Leak Detection Service; Service Cost £40.00
During the course of a service, the Nitrogen high pressure or Vacuum leak tests may indicate that the system is leaking. Finding the leak(s) can be very time consuming and hence costly to the customer.
Go-Cool Services is able to locate most leaks in approximately one hour. To be fair to both parties we will only charge the fixed amount of £40.00 (equivalent to one hour labour charge )to find the leak(s), even if it takes us longer than one hour. This charge is in addition to any other service charges.
This service uses a variety of methods to locate the leak(s). Once the leak(s) have been found we can then provide an estimate of parts and labour costs to correct, before the final gas Re-Charge can take place.
LATEST LEAK TESTING UPDATE: We are in a position to offer the very latest method for leak testing using a high pressure leak test using a special gas mix of Nitrogen/Hydrogen and specialist Hydrogen sniffer. This method has proved to be extremely reliable at detecting microscopic leaks which other methods are unable to locate. This special gas mix allows a totaly legal and safe way of locating leaks and ensures your system is repaired and re-gassed in the most professional manner.
Note: It is illegal for anyone to Re-Charge a vehicle with a known leak.
>>Ultra-Violet (UV) Dye Service ; Service cost £45.00
This service simply involves the injection of a special UV dye into a working system. The UV dye circulates with the oil and gas in the system and can provide an early warning of a future leak thus helping to prevent more costly repairs. The use of a UV dye is particularly good when trying to detect suspected leaks in the internal (under dash) evaporator unit. It is the most reliable way of determining a problem with this major part, without spending hours (at great cost) to remove an evaporator only to find it is not at fault.
>>De-Odorising/Anti-Bacterial Treatment Service; Service Cost £40.00.
Due to the very nature of the air conditioning operation fungus and bacteria can actually build up on the internal evaporator of the car (situated under the dashboard). This build up of bacteria can result in what is commonly known as "sick car syndrome", whereby not only is an offensive smell given off whenever the air conditioning is switched on , but also occupants can feel sick or contract ear, nose and throat infections from your system.
We treat the evaporator and entire car interior using specialised equipment, as approved by a well known German car manufacturer, killing all the bugs and leaving your aircon smelling sweetly. Treatment time 20 minutes.
Although this treatment has proved to be successful in the majority of cases for up to one year after treatment there are exceptions. No refunds are offered on this service if it fails to clear your problem.A second treatment may be offered, however if the first treatment failed within a short period of time, less than 1 month, it would suggest you need more radical cleansing i.e. a system strip down to clean the evaporator itself. This can be offered as a service but will be assesed and estimated for costs on an individual vehicle basis. Most vehicle evaporators are very difficult to access!!
>>Leak-Sealant Service; Treatment cost £65.00.
Where a leak test shows up a very small leak it may be possible to fix this type of leak by using a special leak-sealant injected into the air conditioning system. This sealant is specially formulated for air conditioning systems (both old and new) to seal existing leaks and remains in the system to seal any future leaks. This leak repair option will only work for very small leaks. Major leaks need to be dealt with in the proper manner by replacing the faulty parts.
NOTE: The Leak-Sealant Service can only be carried out as part of an Air Conditioning System Service. Please note that a refund on a failed Leak-Sealant Service is not possible.
¤ CONTAMINATED GAS WASTE DISPOSAL SERVICE ¤
Services involving the removal of contaminated gas may incur a charge of £15.00 per kilogram of gas recovered for waste disposal.
It is illegal (EPA Act 1990) to vent refrigerant gases (contaminated or otherwise) to the atmosphere and the only way to dispose of them safely is through incineration in special treatment plants (which costs money).
Note: We can also arrange for disposal of trade bulk gas waste at reduced pricing per kilogram and issue waste disposal notes to comply with legislation.
